Spiritual Self Defense
This month, we shared our goals in life and prayed about each of them. We also questioned each of our girls about their spiritual lives and encouraged them to pray and read the Bible more than what they used to do.
We also learned a song that talks about how young Christians should be, and the verse Ecclesiastes 11:9.
Physical Self Defense
We are learning the fight stance, I’m making them practice until they are good enough at it and also we are teaching the girls how to stand up when they get attacked by surprise. It was a very good time, the girls really enjoyed every moment while they were learning, so we laughed a lot.
Economic Self Defense
Our taxi driver restarted his work two weeks ago in spite of the continuous gas problem, so he’s doing good and we are satisfied.
Our girls are learning how to make handbags or whatever they want with crochet thread, so we planned on giving them more lessons about that and also believe that that will help them defend themselves a little bit more economically.
Earthquake Relief
July Update: A 7.2 Earthquake hit Haiti last week, just below Jacamel, where our team is. Thankfully, our girls are safe, but hundreds of lives were lost down south. We have sent money to our leaders to create relief packages for the families down south who are really suffering. Thank you for helping us to continually show up for our girls!
