Prayer Chain
We are praying for these points:
Schools’ programs for next month
Praying for the refugees situation in the camp which is horrible and painful
Praying for provision
Praying for GWP in general and the Congo leader’s trip to Tanzania in December.
Praying for our donors
Praying for security (safety)
Our newest rescue, a sweet girl named Esther just 15 years old recently gave birth. Rebel armies came through her village which sent everyone running. She was separated in the chaos from her parents and ended up traveling for many days on her own. She was captured by rebels and repeatedly raped and beaten. She managed to escape but was found much later nearly dead and pregnant. She was brought to our safe house where she has been healing in her mind and heart and body. We have given her regular visits with a psychologist as well as the healing that comes with being in a safe environment with a loving family consisting of many children who know what it’s like to be rescued. All of the kids have made a schedule of who will help out with her new baby!
For now, she cannot locate her parents, but we are praying that they are found and that they will be reunited. Until then, she is safe with us. Please keep her healing in your prayers.
Outreach: Refugee Camp
This month of August we started with the distribution of sanitary pads in the camps for displaced women and then we started to plan the activities that will follow the distribution-cutting and sewing training.
-Training of young children for those who will not go to school and will do manual work.
-Regarding the cutting and sewing we started and finished successfully.
The girls that have learned quickly and are able to make the clothes.
With the refugee block that we oversee in the camp, there have been several human losses due to cholera and skin infections, as well as malaria caused by the rain and lack of proper sleeping accommodations.
Praying God’s miracle for them and provide.
Annette sent us this photo asking for us to help buy protective clothing so that she could go in to help our refugee camp in person, but with Monkey Pox, Cholera and Malaria spiking, we insisted that she find someone to go in her place. She has a whole house of kids that rely on her as their mom and she can’t put her life in any more danger than it already is. She truly has a servant’s heart.
Spiritual Self Defense
This month we reservice good teaching from one of our partner her name is Anastasia Hansel ,who loves GWP and come to bless us with a word:
Genesis 16:8 Where Have You Come From and Where Are You Going?
Anastasia began her sermon by inviting the congregation to reflect on the profound question inspired by Genesis 16:8: “Where have you come from, and where are you going?” She challenged everyone to examine their personal journeys, decisions, and the direction of their lives, urging them to find alignment with God’s purpose and calling.
1. *Prayer: Seeking Divine Guidance*
Anastasia started by sharing with the church a heartfelt prayer that she often says : “Lord Jesus, if You were me with all my weaknesses and strengths, what would You be doing in my little corner of the world?” She encouraged the congregation to use this prayer as a guide to seeking God’s direction in their daily lives, reminding them that true purpose is found in following His lead.
2. *Wait Training*
She spoke about the importance of “wait training”—the spiritual discipline of waiting on God. Anastasia emphasized that patience and trust in God’s timing are crucial, especially when we find ourselves at crossroads or in moments of uncertainty.
3. *Saying ‘YES’ at the Edge of the Unknown*
Anastasia shared that faith often requires us to say ‘YES’ at the edge of the unknown, just like Hagar in the wilderness. It is in these moments of uncertainty that God’s plans begin to unfold, and our trust in Him is put to the test.
4. Going Nowhere to Being Now Here
Reflecting on the phrase “Go-ing nowhere then be-ing now here,” she highlighted how God redirects our paths. What may seem like wandering is often God positioning us precisely where we need to be.
She stressed that change begins within. By becoming a difference—through character, actions, and decisions—we can make a significant impact on the world around us.

Physical Self Defense
We still in Course 1: Lesson 1
Fight Stance, Technical Stand up, Push and pull base
After reviewing their video, they have still not passed an essential step in the technical stand up. They can complete the technical stand up when there is no one there, but as soon as there is pressure from someone “attacking” them, they lose the technique completely. We are working on this fundamental stance so that if they are attacked they can get on their feet quickly and effectively.
Update: One young woman (in the yellow shirt) can maintain the technique of the technical stand up while pressure is applied! Progress.
Intellectual Self Defense
We also planned and followed months with our project to supervise street children and include them in our programs of Economical self defense and Intellectual self defense!
Music Lessons
Tailoring Training
Weekly trainings with Rachel, a very skilled young woman that we sent to school for tailoring!
Hair braiding Trade
Year long course for professional certification
We prepare the children for the start of the school year, buying uniforms, books, schools bags … so next month everything be ready for them.

Banana Chips Business: Because of the rebel armies that surround the village, the people selling bananas have not been able to pass through to bring them to us so that we can make chips out of them and sell them. For now, we have no profit.
