This is Gentleness and she is 13 years old. Two years ago, Gentleness was living in a very dangerous situation and so her parents sent her to live further away to keep her safe. When I first met her, she was living with a wonderful woman who took her in but could not afford to send her to school, and so Gentleness was living as a house-girl. I was able to get to know her more while she was at YRF camp and came to love her so much. Because of an incredibly generous donor, Gentleness will be going to an amazing Christian boarding school in Marangu! She spent most of the afternoon testing to get into the school. She was so nervous before she went in, but we prayed for her and encouraged her and sent her in. We kept coming back after several hours to find her still taking her test- little did we know she Aced one and got a B on the other- what a smart girl!
And to imagine that she would have had to stay out of school! Now every time I see her, she hugs me and shows me her big, dimpled smile. Thank you for helping Gentleness go to school! You can’t imagine the impact that you are making on one little girls life.”
