Spiritual Self Defense
This year in addition to the curriculum, we decided to talk about becoming perfected in temptation as the daughters we are becoming according to Scripture. We meditated on:
Matthew 4:1-7
If Jesus who is God was tempted by the evil, and he succeed through the Word of the Lord, we too need to know Scripture to respond for all temptations that come from the circumstances of life.
Prayer is the big step, having faith is good, and knowing the word of God is amazing, but having those 3 elements is the key to success and living better in this world.
Testimony
“I’m so thankful for GWP, I came alone in the group and when our leader always gives us exercises to do at home before our next meetings, my sisters ask me where I took those things. She was talking about self-defense and physical exercises and I told her if you need to know you must come with me in the next meetings. They came the next time I told them, and now we are together in GWP team. It’s so amazing to learn together as it helps us to practice at home together and be strong.
But the wonderful thing is that my sister was suffering for muscles and sometimes she was not able to walk. But now, it’s been 3 months in the group and we see the change from her.
It was a prayer, now it’s a testimony. It is the reason why I would like to share it with others. It is so amazing and we continue to say thanks for this initiative for her in Congo.”

Physical Self Defense
We went over all the exercises of self-defense already memorized, and taught it to the new girls. We focused on our practice and physical exercises, such as abdominal exercise working on strength of the girls and endurance for the muscles. And we take our exercises of self-defense off our YouTube chain.
Intellectual Self Defense
We are so happy for Lea as she started her last year in university! She will finish this year, and we praise the Lord for her and her family. They are so thankful for GWP.
Economical Self Defense
God is really good to us, He gives us good health, intelligence and wisdom to know how to always look after Him and manage the benefit He gives us. To take care of ourselves and girls and to meet little by little the need for our families in our country, to eat two to three times (a day) is for a certain category of people- only the people who are rich, and who really have their means.
In addition to our small business that we do here in the Congo, we have learned to seek God in our businesses and He gives us wisdom to manage what little we can find. So, thanks to this, some of us are able to pay for food for the day and three times a week.
We are happy with who we are becoming with GWP. I’m the light; blessings is my name in Jesus.
