Prayer Chain
As our priority is to talk to God and have an amazing relationship between Him and us, prayer has been and will continue to dwell in us. For God tells us that he loves us and loves caring for us, and we have accepted to serve him as our Lord and Savior.
During their meetings, Annette tells us that they hear wonderful testimonies from different ladies about “sharing of the Word and prayer”. She says how important it is for us to daily “hear more about Jesus’ promises and about the kingdom of God, how much he loves us and accepts us as we are.”

This month we are thrilled to report about one of our girls, Amina Bahindwa. When Amina began coming to the GWP meetings, she was not able to pray and did not know the Word of God. Now, Annette exclaims how excited Amina is to learn about Jesus! She even decided to accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior during one of their meetings on July 21st.
The following are the specific prayer requests from Annette:
-
May we discover our identity and know who we are.
-
For God to give us the maturity to take care of our responsibilities in our families and in the GWP. Through this, we hope to be a blessing to others and share the way to Jesus with many girls.
-
Prayers for our girls and their businesses.
-
For God’s blessings and protection over our leaders and sponsors.
Spiritual Self Defense
This month, we are discussing lesson 8 which speaks about “Jesus: the love of God to us’. We are emphasizing how God “desires to re-establish our relationship with Him.” Annette is teaching the girls how our dark and sinful nature makes it impossible for us to reach the kingdom of God on our own. However, “God decided to do something important for us by cleaning that spot through the sacrifice of Jesus for us.” She has been using Luke 1:26-38 to emphasize this point, which foretells the birth of Jesus.

Physical Self Defense
This month we wanted to highlight a young woman named Jovial Kasindi.
“Before coming to GWP, I had a problem with my physical body. It was not for me to move quickly but now thanks to physical exercises given in our meeting I can be quick in some circumstances. I’m hoping to reach other girls’ level by practicing from home. People used to tell me that I’m not strong but I know that by the grace of God I will be better than who I am now”.

Intellectual Self Defense

This month we draw our attention again to Lea Kuba and also introduce Amina Chandi. Amina loves playing soccer but the government in DRC has not yet opened the sports facilities. So for now, he is looking forward to when he can begin training.
