Prayer Chain
As our priority is to talk to God and have an amazing relationship between Him and us, prayer has been and will continue to dwell in us.
We thank the Lord for all things he is doing in our lives because now we can see some response to our requests that we have been asking for. Thanks, Lord Jesus for loving us.
This gives us more reasons to trust Him and continue to hope in Him. Much love to JESUS CHRIST!
The following are the specific prayer requests from Annette:
-
For God to help and teach us to be the real girls that he needs for His glory.
-
For God to give us the maturity to take care of our responsibilities in our families and in the GWP. Through this, we hope to be a blessing to others and share the way to Jesus with many girls.
-
We are asking the Lord to help us with our leadership and authority so that we can actually be a stepping stone empowering the next generation instead of being a point of conflict.
-
We pray for God’s blessings and protection over our leaders and sponsors.
Spiritual Self Defense
This month, we are discussing lesson 7 which speaks about “my story’’. We believe that God is always for us and in us. Our lives are filled with a lot of mistakes, and sometimes we might think we are doing the right thing even when we are not. But when Jesus decides to walk with us, everything changes, and our life is filled with favor from Him. Annette is teaching the girls “more about God and His kingdom and mercy.” This gives them a better understanding of themselves and God’s creation, knowing that we are his daughters and friends.

Physical Self Defense

This month we wanted to highlight a young woman named Mignonne.
“I am one of the Graceful Warriors and I’m very thankful for this wonderful project because it helps us understand the real importance of our bodies. With the help of our country leader, doing physical exercises helps me improve my muscles and the body to be healthier and stronger. Self-defense also helps us protect our bodies in dangerous situations and from dangerous people”.
Intellectual Self Defense

This month we wanted to highlight a young woman named Lea Kuba who we have the honor to send to University!
“I am among the Graceful Warrior girls of Congo. First, I bless the Lord for having given me the opportunity of meeting with Kelly and knowing that GWP was going to start in Congo. I first met Kelly at Un Jour Nouveau during leadership and Christian training. I was part of a local church and was even baptized, but I had a grudge and hatred against my father. One day Kelly spoke to us about her story and about what her father did.
My hatred against my father was growing because I couldn’t share my problems with anyone. After Kelly finished to share I asked the question whether forgiving means forgetting. I spent the whole night praying that God may take the hatred in me so that my future may not be affected. At some point, I was chosen to share my story with the other girls, and I felt like a huge burden was taken off me. Kelly prayed for me and said some nice words to me that I still remember. Graceful Warrior has helped and transformed me because I see things differently now. It has taken me from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light. As we are learning to study how to protect ourselves physically, spiritually, and financially, we will be able to achieve greater things thanks to the GWP. About my studies, I used to pray to God that I may be able to just get a high school diploma and end there because I couldn’t see any other way I was going to continue with my studies, but with the help of GWP, I have the conviction that I will continue to study beyond that level thanks to Jesus Christ. Thanks and God bless you.”
Economic Self Defense
Currently, our girls in Congo have 3 small businesses. Two are about selling second-hand dresses and one is for selling shoes. These activities will help our girls be financially independent and also help them meet their basic needs and those of their families. They also help the GWP with monthly contributions for the purpose of helping one another around the world. Annette says, “we believe we can do it better together and work harder.”
