Prayer Chain
As ladies, we have decided to make God our priority as he says in the Bible that he loves us and loves to care for us. Additionally, we have accepted to serve him as our Lord and Savior. During our daily meetings, we need to hear more about Jesus’ promises and about the kingdom of God. Annette reminds us that we are fully accepted by God by his love for us.
The following are the specific prayer requests from Annette:
-
May God give us the maturity to take care of our responsibilities in our families and GWP, and be a blessing to other girls by being a light to them and showing them the way to Jesus Christ our Savior.
-
May we discover our identity and know who we are.
-
Prayers for our girls and their businesses.
-
For God’s blessings and protection over our leaders and sponsors.
Spiritual Self Defense
In addition to the curriculum, this month, we also include other values that we find essential for us to learn during our meetings to be good examples for others. We speak on the following subjects:
-
Love
-
Gratitude and Appreciation
-
Kindness and Compassion
-
Integrity
-
Giving and Forgiving
-
Growth and Faith
-
Peace
-
Family, Friends, and Connections
-
Happiness through the Word of God
Physical Self Defense
“Some of us have experienced health problems, and at the end of the day, it is not easy to enjoy life without being healthy. So we have decided to make physical exercise one of our top priorities.” – Annette
Intellectual Self Defense
We thank God for helping Lea go to school since she is the only one in her family that has had that opportunity. Annette says, ” We believe she can help her brothers and sisters through what she is learning.” Classes for her are doing well and currently, she is doing her internship for two weeks then will be back in the city.
Economic Self Defense
The girls’ small businesses are continuing to help them meet the needs of their families and their own personal needs and goals. Esperance plans to go back to school with her personal earnings and says, “I thank God for His mercy, protection, and for more things that he has been doing in my life!” Annette shows them how to save their profits and to honor God’s part every step of the way.
Esperance and Florance have been selling shoes and Patricia has her own baking business! People have now started ordering Patricia’s cakes for birthdays and wedding ceremonies. God is doing wonders for Esperance when she started selling clothes and when she recently transitioned into the fishing business.
